Two differentr individuals at Tarragona during the weekend. The first was seen by Camil Albert (thanks for the pictures). These are two different but classical HG types. The first is very pale and worn, but the second is realy fresh, note a big ammount of juvenile escapulars.

Herring gull (L. argentatus), 08-01-12
Herring gull (L. argentatus), 08-01-12. Adult and 2nd winter bird. This is a heavy individual but note the dark rump and tail and the lack of grey escapulars.
